I don't have a lot of experience with sketching except for two classes I took in college, but I remember really liking those classes and I got into doodling for a little while afterwards. It's something I havn't really done in a long time, and I thought it'd be fun to see if I remember anything.

My nephew Ryan had his Eagle Scout court of honor this weekend, and I made the cakes for it. It was quite the adventure. It was one of those nights when everything goes wrong- icing bags tearing and spilling all over the place, the icing getting runny and losing its shape, the frosting wouldn't dye the right shades, etc. I can't remember the last time the kitchen was such a mess. The flag one didn't turn out at all how I had envisioned it, but it ended up making a funny story so I guess that's alright. Plus it still tasted good. :)

I think I'll just start calling the weekly arrangements I do for the apartment lobby the arrangement of the week.

I don't know if a puzzle counts as being creative, but it's what kept me from doing any other projects so I'm gonna include it to prove I havn't been a total slacker the last 2 weeks.

This week's apartment arrangement. The cherry blossom branches kind of blend into the door so you have to look for them.

I didn't come up with the design for this one, but I don't have much to choose from for this week for the blog, and I did still make it even if I didn't design it, so it's getting included. :)
